BioPet Vet Lab, Inc. ( “BioPet Laboratories,” “BioPet Labs,” “BioPet,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. The following policy dictates the manner in which we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect personal information when you access or use any services provided by BioPet Vet Lab, Inc. including PooPrints®, DNA Proof of Parentage, DNA World Pet Registry®, and Know Your Pet DNA® including websites, products, and services (collectively any BioPet Services”).

BioPet Vet Lab and the collective services and websites collects and uses information gathered from users of this including visitors to BioPet websites, consumers who purchase or register DNA test kits, pet owners who submit pet DNA samples, and users who access genetic results through BioPet accounts (each, a “User”).

This statement includes both The Company’s EU-US and Swiss-US Privacy Shield Statement, and the Website Privacy Statement. Privacy Users’ privacy is extremely important to us and we are committed to safeguarding the information you entrust to us. DNA World Pet Registry will not disclose information about customers or users without express permission unless the release of said information is required by government subpoena. BioPet Vet Lab, Inc complies with the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework program (EU-U.S. DPF), the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF, and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework program (Swiss-U.S. DPF) as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce. BioPet Vet Lab, Inc. has certified to the U.S. Department of Commerce that it adheres to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework Principles (EU-U.S. DPF Principles) with regard to the processing of personal data received from the European Union in reliance on the EU-U.S. DPF and from the United Kingdom (and Gibraltar) in reliance on the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF. BioPet Vet Lab, Inc has certified to the U.S. Department of Commerce that it adheres to the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework program Principles (Swiss-U.S. DPF Principles) with regard to the processing of personal data received from Switzerland in reliance on the Swiss-U.S. DPF. If there is any conflict between the terms in this privacy policy and the EU-U.S. DPF Principles and/or the Swiss-U.S. DPF Principles, the Principles shall govern. In compliance with the EU-US Data Privacy Framework Principles, BioPet Vet Lab, Inc. commits to resolve complaints about your privacy and our collection or use of your personal information transferred to the United States pursuant to the DPF Principles. European Union, Swiss and United Kingdom individuals with DPF inquiries or complaints should first contact BioPet Vet Lab, Inc at info@biopetlabs.com.

BioPet Vet Lab, Inc as further committed to refer unresolved privacy complaints under the DPF Principles to an independent dispute resolution mechanism, Data Privacy Framework Services, operated by BBB National Programs. If you do not receive timely acknowledgment of your complaint, or if your complaint is not satisfactorily addressed, please visit https://bbbprograms.org/programs/all-programs/dpf-consumers/ProcessForConsumers for more information and to file a complaint. This service is provided free of charge to you.

If your DPF complaint cannot be resolved through the above channels, under certain conditions, you may invoke binding arbitration for some residual claims not resolved by other redress mechanisms. 

Information Collection Practices and Uses

Information We Collect

BioPet may collect personally identifiable information from
Users in a variety of ways, including through online forms, written account
registration forms, DNA kit purchases, pet registrations, and other
interactions with BioPet Services.

Information we may collect includes:

  • Name

  • Mailing address

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Account login credentials

  • Order information

  • Pet name and general descriptors

  • Genetic information derived from submitted pet DNA samples, including breed composition, traits, parentage, and certain health-related genetic markers

Website Usage and Cookies

We also collect information about how Users interact with our websites through server logs, cookies, and similar technologies. Cookies help recognize returning visitors, improve website functionality, analyze website usage, and enhance the user experience. Users may manage cookie preferences through their browser settings or through cookie consent tools where available.

Communications (Email & SMS)

BioPet may use the email address and mobile phone number you provide to communicate with you regarding your account, pet registration, DNA kit status, laboratory updates, customer support, and other services you have requested.

If you choose to opt in to receive SMS text messages, BioPet may also send you transactional and, where permitted by law and with your consent, promotional messages. Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply.

You may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to any message. You may also contact BioPet using the contact information provided in this Privacy Policy to update your communication preferences.

Your consent to receive SMS messages is voluntary and is not a condition of purchasing BioPet products or services.

Pet DNA Samples

BioPet does not collect, analyze, or store human genetic data.

When you submit a pet DNA sample, the sample and any extracted DNA may be stored in a BioPet-controlled biobank located in the United States or destroyed after laboratory processing, at BioPet's discretion. Once submitted, pet DNA samples and extracted DNA cannot be returned. Portions of submitted samples may be used for laboratory calibration, validation, quality assurance, or other operational purposes.

Veterinary Disclaimer

Genetic information for animals is provided for informational and recreational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional veterinary care. Genetic results are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease. Always consult a licensed veterinarian regarding questions about your pet's health.

Use of Genetic Data

BioPet may use pet DNA samples, genetic data, results, and related pet information to:

  • Provide and improve BioPet Services

  • Conduct internal research and development

  • Perform laboratory quality assurance and optimization

  • Conduct statistical analysis and service enhancement

  • Develop commercial products and services as permitted by applicable law, including through the use of aggregated or de-identified information

You do not acquire rights in any research, datasets, or commercial products developed by BioPet or its collaborators and will not receive compensation related to such use.

BioPet retains ownership of laboratory-generated genetic profile data. You may request deletion or de-identification of personal information associated with your BioPet account, subject to applicable legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations. Deletion of personal information does not require destruction of de-identified or aggregated genetic data already incorporated into research, analytics, or operational systems.

BioPet acknowledges that individuals covered by the applicable Data Privacy Frameworks have the right to access, correct, amend, or request deletion of personal information maintained by BioPet. Requests should be submitted using the contact information provided in this Privacy Policy.

Information Disclosure

BioPet does not sell or rent your personal information.

We may share personal information with trusted service providers, authorized business partners, and integration partners that assist us in providing, maintaining, or improving BioPet Services. These may include laboratories, payment processors, shipping providers, property management platforms, pet registration platforms, customer support providers, and other technology partners operating under contractual confidentiality and data protection obligations.

We may also share information with affiliated companies and brands within the BioPet family when necessary to provide or support the BioPet Services you request.

We share only the information reasonably necessary to provide the requested services. We do not share personal information with third parties for their independent marketing or advertising purposes.

We may also disclose personal information when required by law or in response to lawful governmental requests, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets involving BioPet Services.

Access to Information and Confidentiality

Users have the right to request access to the personal information BioPet maintains about them and, where applicable, request corrections or deletion, subject to legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations. Requests may be submitted using the contact information provided in this Privacy Policy.

BioPet maintains reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. Employees, contractors, affiliated companies, and authorized partners may access personal information only as necessary to provide BioPet Services and are required to maintain its confidentiality.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

BioPet may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or business practices. Material changes will be posted on our websites and, where required by law, we will provide additional notice. Your continued use of BioPet Services after any changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.

Information Security and Integrity

BioPet takes reasonable administrative, technical, and physical precautions designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, destruction, loss, or misuse. We regularly review our security practices and strive to maintain appropriate safeguards for the information entrusted to us.
